The Street, Wenhaston, the main road through the village, crosses horizontally in this photo. Note the tall white churchyard flagpole with its golden cap. No flag flying today but anyone can request it be flown to mark their personal 'special day'. Flag or no flag the eye is drawn to the wide Suffolk sky and the lovely view beyond the village. Between the two is Church Common where wrens, owls, woodpeckers and nightingales can be seen or heard - sometimes both! There are several areas of open Common land in Wenhaston, important remnants of the once-widespread Suffolk Sandlings.
